Redbarn

Today we were fortunate enough to spend the morning at a horse farm for a homeschool outing.  The boys were pretty excited and slightly nervous...it had been quite some time since they were this close to a horse, but it didn't take long before they felt quite comfortable.  I wasn't sure how MaKenna was going to do as she was afraid of horses, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to see other kids interacting with them without hesitation.  She didn't want to pet the horses, or even go near them, at first, but by the time it was her turn to ride, she was pretty excited!  Yay!  I had a deep love for horses as a little girl (and what girl doesn't) and was really hoping her fear wouldn't last.  After the kids went on their rides, we headed back to the barn to feed the horses carrot treats.  We could have stayed all day, we were having that much fun!  We picniced with some friends and then headed home.  Of course, now there is talk about getting a horse when we finally get some property.  I have a feeling the list of farm animals will continue to grow!
